Mangaluru, Aug 9: A new chapter in student-led technological innovation began at Yenepoya School of Engineering and Technology (YSET), Mangaluru, with the inauguration of the AWS Student Builder Group, creating a vibrant platform for students to learn, build, collaborate and grow in the rapidly evolving world of technology.

The inaugural programme at Yenepoya School of Engineering and Technology, Mangaluru witnessed the enthusiastic participation of more than 170 students, reflecting strong interest among the student community in AWS, cloud computing, software development, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

The inauguration marked the formal commencement of the AWS Student Builder Group at Yenepoya School of Engineering and Technology, Mangaluru, introducing students to the group's vision, objectives and the wide range of opportunities available through the community.

The programme was graced by Dr Prabhakara B K, professor and head, department of Computer Science and Engineering, Yenepoya School of Engineering & Technology, Mangaluru, as the chief guest. Dr Mohammed Sidheeque, associate professor, department of Computer Science and Engineering, Yenepoya School of Engineering & Technology, Mangaluru, was also present and extended his support to the initiative.

The launch represents an important step towards strengthening the culture of student-led technological learning and innovation at Yenepoya School of Engineering and Technology, Mangaluru.

The AWS Student Builder Group at YSET aims to encourage students to move beyond conventional classroom learning and gain experience through practical engagement, collaboration and community participation.

Students were introduced to opportunities including hands-on technical learning, AWS certification guidance, real-world project development, networking with technology professionals, hackathons and technical competitions, leadership opportunities, participation in the global student community and career development.

The initiative seeks to nurture a generation of students who do not merely consume technology but actively experiment, build, innovate and solve problems.

A dedicated technical session formed an important part of the inaugural programme, providing students with an engaging learning experience and highlighting the importance of continuously developing industry-relevant technical skills.

A special KIRO session conducted by Radhesh Pai a third year CSE student member introduced participants to the technology and its practical applications. The session encouraged students to explore emerging tools and understand how they can be applied to build innovative solutions. Adding an element of excitement and healthy competition, participants also took part in TechQuest, an interactive technical game that promoted problem-solving, logical thinking, teamwork and active participation.

The students of Yenepoya School of Engineering and Technology, Mangaluru were also introduced to the AWS Builder Center and encouraged to explore its learning resources and opportunities. The initiative aims to connect students with the broader AWS ecosystem and motivate them to continue their technical learning beyond the inaugural event.

The AWS Student Builder Group plans to encourage participation in technical workshops, hackathons, projects, certification initiatives and community activities, creating sustained opportunities for technical growth and collaboration at YSET.

The inauguration of the AWS Student Builder Group has laid the foundation for a year of technical learning, innovation, collaboration and student-led activities at Yenepoya School of Engineering and Technology, Mangaluru. With more than 170 students participating in the inaugural programme, the initiative has already generated strong enthusiasm within the YSET student community.
