Mumbai, Aug 9: Mahindra Group has appointed Shveta Arya as its Group Chief Strategy Officer, with effect from September 15, the company announced on Sunday.
Arya will also join the Senior Management of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd and become part of the Group Executive Board. She will report to Mahindra Group CEO and Managing Director Anish Shah.
Arya joins the Mahindra Group from Cummins India, where she was serving as Managing Director. In her new role, she will lead the Group Strategy Office and work across the group's portfolio of businesses to identify growth opportunities, unlock value and strengthen long-term strategic advantage.

According to the company, Arya brings more than 23 years of experience across publicly listed multinational organisations and management consulting. Her professional experience spans sectors including automotive, travel, financial services and telecommunications.
Welcoming her appointment, Anish Shah said Arya's experience in business and strategy, along with her background in management consulting, would contribute to the group's efforts to drive growth and create long-term value.
At Cummins India, Arya was responsible for driving business growth, customer success and talent development, while also working towards fostering a positive, inclusive and ethical workplace culture.
Before joining Cummins India, she led strategy and mergers and acquisitions at Thomas Cook India and previously held various roles at Kearney and Infosys.
Her appointment comes as the Mahindra Group continues to focus on strengthening its businesses, identifying new growth opportunities and creating long-term value across its diverse portfolio.
