Mumbai cops foil 40-year-old's suicide attempt

Mumbai, Aug 10: Versova police saved a 40-year-old man after breaking into his house and foiling his suicide attempt in Andheri (West) on Sunday.

The incident occurred at around 12.42 pm at Sagar Kutir locality, allegedly after the man had an argument with his wife over a domestic issue.

Police received an alert through the control room after a neighbour informed them about the incident. A team rushed to the spot and reached the house within five minutes.

A Versova police officer said the man had taken the extreme step following the argument. The police team administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and revived him.

The man was subsequently taken to Cooper Hospital in Vile Parle West for further medical treatment.

“After he regained consciousness and medical treatment assistance he was dropped at his residence in the presence of his family member and was counselled,” police said.

Police have not disclosed the man's identity or profession.
