Mangaluru, Aug 11: Leopard activity has intensified in Permude, where a leopard reportedly dragged away a pet dog from a house on Sunday night. The terrifying incident was captured on the house’s CCTV camera.
The leopard is said to have entered the house premises of the late Nonayya G K at Niddele Kodi, within the limits of Permude gram panchayat, at around 11:40 pm on Sunday. It reportedly bit the pet dog that was in the courtyard and dragged it away.
When the dog, which had been in the house premises at night, was found missing in the morning, the family checked the CCTV footage and discovered the frightening incident.
The family members and villagers are now living in fear. The family informed the Forest Department about the incident. Forest officials have said that a cage will be placed to trap the leopard.
