Mangaluru, Aug 13: The Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University, organised a guest lecture on “What Airlines Really Look For: Employability Skills for Aviation Graduates” on Wednesday, August 12, at 9:45 am for students of second year BBA Aviation & Logistics Management and final year BBA Aviation Management.
The session was conducted by Arun Kumar M., senior cabin crew, Air India Express Limited, who shared valuable insights into the skills and qualities that airlines seek while recruiting aviation professionals.
Addressing the students, Arun emphasised that success in the aviation industry depends not only on academic qualifications but also on employability skills such as effective communication, confidence, professional grooming, teamwork, customer service orientation, discipline, situational awareness, adaptability, and a positive attitude. He also provided practical guidance on interview preparation, workplace professionalism, and career development in the airline industry.







The interactive session enabled students to gain first-hand industry exposure and a better understanding of airline recruitment expectations. The programme proved highly beneficial in enhancing students’ awareness of industry standards and motivated them to develop the competencies required to become industry-ready aviation professionals.
The guest lecture was successfully conducted with the support and guidance of Dr Pavithra Kumari, dean; SWO, HoDs, guest lecture coordinator, along with the coordination of faculty members and staff of the Institute of Aviation Studies.
