Toronto, Aug 14: Poland's seventh seed Iga Swiatek defeated second seed Elena Rybakina in straight sets to win the Women's Singles title at the Canadian Open in Toronto.

Swiatek secured her first title of the 2026 season with a convincing 6-2, 6-3 victory over Rybakina, giving her a timely boost ahead of the US Open.

In the Men's Singles final in Montreal, fifth-seeded American Ben Shelton defeated compatriot Brandon Nakashima 6-3, 7-6(4) to successfully defend his Canadian Open crown.

The victory earned Shelton his second ATP Masters 1000 title and marked his fourth tournament triumph of the 2026 season, following earlier wins in Dallas, Munich and Stuttgart.

The Montreal triumph takes Shelton's career tally to seven tour-level titles and further strengthens his momentum going into the remainder of the 2026 season.
