Udupi, Aug 15: The SODE Group of institutions comprising Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, S V H Pre-University College, Innanje and Kadiyali English Medium School, Udupi celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with great fervour and patriotic spirit on August 15, at their respective institutions.
The celebrations at SMVITM, held in association with Niramaya College of Nursing and Niramaya College of Allied Health Sciences, Bantakal, was graced by Dr Gururaj Kidiyoor, professor and dean - Academics, TAPMI Manipal. He hoisted the national flag and delivered the Independence Day message, reflecting on India's remarkable journey since independence and inspired everyone to contribute actively to nation-building. He remembered the contribution of freedom fighters on this occasion. Also, he acknowledged the contribution of our great leaders and engineers in the post-independence years and suggested the students to update their skill-sets in line with the current industry requirements.




CEO of SODE Group of Institutions Dr Radhakrishna S Aithal, principal of SMVITM Dr Nagaraj Bhat, principal of Niramaya College of Nursing Roshni Rodrigues, principal of Niramaya College of Allied Health Sciences Shivashankar Pai, faculty, staff and students of SMVITM, Niramaya College of Nursing and Niramaya College of Allied Health Sciences were present on the occasion.
Besides, SMVITM organised patriotic group singing and poster making competitions for the faculty and staff, which received enthusiastic participation and appreciation. NCC cadets and associate NCC officer lieutenant Karthik V played an active role in making the Independence Day celebrations memorable at Bantakal campus.
At S V H Pre-University College, Innanje, the national flag was hoisted by Rathnakumar, secretary of Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust, Udupi. In his address, Rathnakumar insisted upon the staff and students to work towards the betterment of independent India. The staff and students of S V H Schools and Pre-University College witnessed various cultural activities performed on the occasion.
At Kadiyali English Medium School, the tricolour flag was hoisted by P Srinivasa Tantry, vice-president of Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust, Udupi and delivered the Independence Day message, highlighting the significance of freedom and the responsibilities of the younger generation towards the nation building.
The staff and students of Kadiyali English Medium School actively participated in the celebrations. The colourful cultural events performed by the students attracted the audience.
The celebrations across the institutions reflected the spirit of patriotism, unity and national pride, inspiring students to uphold the values of freedom, responsibility and service to the nation.
