Rajinikanth unveils motion poster of ‘Oru Kaidhiyin Diary’

Chennai, Aug 17: Superstar Rajinikanth on Monday released the motion poster of director Suseenthiran's much-awaited crime thriller Oru Kaidhiyin Diary, starring Shanthnu Bhagyaraj in the lead.

Rajinikanth unveiled the motion poster in the presence of the film's core team, delighting fans and film enthusiasts.

Produced jointly by Kannan Ravi and Deepak Ravi under the KRG Kannan Ravi Group banner, the film features Shanthnu Bhagyaraj as the protagonist, while Seeman plays a key role. Sam C.S. is composing the music.

According to sources close to the film's unit, the story is set against the backdrop of Madurai and revolves around the relationship between a father and son.

The film is expected to blend family emotions with action and fast-paced developments. The lifestyle and culture of Madurai will form an important part of the narrative, while the changing dynamics of the father-son relationship will drive the emotional core of the story.

The recently released motion poster has already generated considerable curiosity, particularly because of the looks of Shanthnu and Seeman, the Madurai temple towers in the background and a visual design resembling a handwritten manuscript.

The title Oru Kaidhiyin Diary, meaning “A Prisoner's Diary”, along with the father-son premise, has further heightened anticipation surrounding the project.

The film will be the 10th production of KRG Kannan Ravi Group and is being jointly produced by Kannan Ravi and Deepak Ravi. The production house has focused on quality commercial cinema and strong storytelling, and has recently backed projects including Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimayil and TN 2026.

Sources said the makers are placing equal emphasis on the strength of the story and production quality for Oru Kaidhiyin Diary.

Director Suseenthiran, known for blending family emotions, action, crime and drama, has established a distinct identity in Tamil cinema through films such as Naan Mahaan Alla and Pandianadu.

With Oru Kaidhiyin Diary, the filmmaker is once again set to explore the emotional complexities of a father-son relationship while combining them with action and crime elements.

The film's unit is reportedly planning to complete the entire shoot in a single schedule.
