Mangaluru, Aug 19: The School of Engineering, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), organized the student clubs inauguration as part of the academic activities for the academic year 2026-27 on Tuesday, August 18, at L F Rasquinha Hall, LCRI Block.
Dr Kiran Cotha, SJ, director AIMIT, St Aloysius, was the chief guest and inaugurated the programme. Fr Denzil Lobo, SJ, founder director of AIMIT, St Aloysius, graced the occasion as the guest of honour.








Addressing the gathering, Dr Kiran Cotha delivered a motivational talk. He emphasized the importance of student clubs in nurturing technical competence, leadership qualities, innovation, and overall personality development. He urged students to actively participate in club activities to explore their talents and complement their academic learning.
Fr Denzil Lobo in his address, spoke on emerging technologies. He highlighted Agentic AI and Generative AI and guided students on how to effectively use these tools for learning and innovation. He also challenged students to take up initiatives offered by various clubs and build extra skills to become industry-ready.
Dr Ruban S, dean of School of Engineering addressed the gathering on 'Introduction and Need for Student Clubs'. Following this, the academic clubs were formally inaugurated.
The objective of the program was to create awareness among students about the various academic and non-academic clubs and to encourage maximum student participation in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
The programme was coordinated by Dr Aldrin C Vaz and Nishmitha M R, faculty members of School of Engineering.
