Mumbai, Aug 21: Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu is set to headline Netflix’s upcoming action thriller ‘Gandhari’, which explores a mother’s relentless fight to protect her daughter. The streaming platform announced the film’s release date and unveiled its first poster on Friday.

Written and produced by Kanika Dhillon and directed by Devashish Makhija, ‘Gandhari’ marks another collaboration between Taapsee and Dhillon after the success of Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba.

The film follows Bani, portrayed by Taapsee, whose journey is described as intense, personal and driven by her determination to find and protect her daughter. The story combines action, emotional drama and elements of revenge.

The poster features Taapsee in a fierce avatar against a dark backdrop, with the shadow of a goddess behind her, hinting at the film’s themes of struggle, protection and retribution.

‘Gandhari’ will begin streaming on Netflix from September 3, 2026. The film also stars Ishwak Singh, Chhaya Kadam, Swastika Mukherjee, Mita Vashisht and Jatin Sarna in key roles.

Kanika Dhillon said the film tells the story of a woman who refuses to be defined by her circumstances. She described Bani’s journey as raw, relentless and deeply personal, while praising Taapsee’s commitment to the character.

The film reunites Taapsee and Dhillon with Netflix following their previous collaboration. Director Devashish Makhija and the ensemble cast have also been praised by the makers for bringing the story to life.

Taapsee was last seen in Anubhav Sinha’s crime thriller Assi, which also featured Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub, Hitesh Dahiya and Jatin Goswami.
