Colombo, Aug 26: Sri Lanka were 265 for eight in their first innings against India when rain forced early stumps on day three of the second Test in Colombo.
Sri Lanka trail India by 238 runs, with Sonal Dinusha unbeaten on 85 and Lahiru Kumara on eight at the crease.
For India, Prasidh Krishna and Manav Suthar have claimed three wickets each, while Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja have taken one wicket apiece.
Earlier, India declared their first innings at 503 for nine, with centuries from Dhruv Jurel and Devdutt Padikkal powering the visitors to a commanding total.
India currently lead the two-match series 1-0. The visitors need to win the Colombo Test to move into fourth place in the race for the 2025-27 World Test Championship final.
Sri Lanka will resume their first innings on day four at 265 for eight, still 238 runs behind India's declared total of 503 for nine.
