New Delhi, Aug 28: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta celebrated Raksha Bandhan with schoolchildren at the Mukhyamantri Jan Sewa Sadan on Thursday, interacting with them and assuring support for their education, well-being and future aspirations.

The children from different parts of Delhi tied rakhis on the chief minister's wrist during the celebration. Gupta also spoke to the youngsters about their dreams and encouraged them to pursue their educational goals.

According to a release from the Chief Minister's Office, the interaction focused on supporting children's education, personal development and aspirations through various Delhi government initiatives.

Sharing pictures from the celebration on X, Gupta said she was happy to celebrate Raksha Bandhan with children who had come from different parts of the national capital.

She said the affection shown by the children was a blessing and wished that their smiles would continue to flourish and that they would have every opportunity to realise their dreams.

The chief minister's Raksha Bandhan celebration came a day after she launched the ‘Delhi Lakshmi Yojana’, aimed at providing financial assistance to eligible women and strengthening their financial independence.

Meanwhile, Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood also celebrated Raksha Bandhan with school students on Wednesday. Several students from different schools visited him and tied rakhis on his wrist.

Sood interacted with the students, appreciated their participation in the celebrations and extended his Raksha Bandhan wishes to them and their families.
