Beltangady: Tempo hits pedestrian, youth succumbs to injuries

Beltangady, Aug 29: A 23-year-old man who was seriously injured after being knocked down by a tempo at Punjalkatte on Aug 20, died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mangaluru on August 28.

The deceased has been identified as Sunil, son of Babu of Kukkala village.

Sunil was working at a chicken shop in Punjalkatte. On the night of August 20, he was returning home on foot after completing his work when a tempo travelling from Madanthyar towards Punjalkatte reportedly hit him.

Due to the impact, Sunil was thrown onto the road and sustained serious head injuries. He was immediately shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru for treatment.

However, despite treatment, Sunil succumbed to his injuries on August 28.

He is survived by his father, mother, brother and sister. Sunil was the youngest of Babu's three children and was supporting his family by working at the shop.
