Kundapur: Another fishing boat sinks at Gangolli estuary, six fishermen rescued

Kundapur, Sep 2: A fishing boat heading out for fishing was caught in a water current and sank at the Gangolli estuary on Wednesday September 2.

Around six fishermen who were on board the boat were rescued immediately, averting a major tragedy. The boat involved in the incident has since been successfully brought back to the shore.

Notably, just last week, a fishing boat had completely sunk at the same Gangolli estuary after being caught in heavy waves. On that occasion too, a swift rescue operation was carried out, and all 27 fishermen on board were safely rescued.

Even before the memories of that incident have faded, another boat getting into trouble at the same location on Wednesday has increased concern among local fishermen.
