Mangaluru: Boat sinks near Ullal estuary, five fishermen rescued

Mangaluru, Sep 3: A fishing boat sank after being caught in strong sea waves near the Ullal estuary on Tuesday evening.

Five fishermen had ventured into the sea for fishing on Tuesday evening in a boat belonging to a person named Shareef.

As the boat proceeded a short distance into the sea, it was caught in the waves and sank. The five fishermen who were trapped in the boat were rescued by fishermen aboard another boat, it is learnt.

Shareef Alakal has lodged a complaint with the Ullal police, stating that the boat sank, causing substantial loss.
