Ghaziabad, Aug 5: A massive fire broke out at a bag manufacturing factory in Tronica City here on Friday night, destroying goods worth lakhs of rupees. No casualties were reported.

The fire broke out at around 9.40 pm on September 4 at the R AND R INC factory located at D-12, Sector A3, Tronica City. The blaze rapidly spread across the factory, sending thick flames into the surrounding area.

Nearby residents alerted the police after noticing the fire. The police received information at around 10.02 pm and rushed to the spot. A security cordon was established around the factory while the fire brigade was alerted.

Due to the intensity of the blaze, 12 fire tenders were deployed from several stations, including Tronica City, Baghpat, Khekra, Vaishali, Sahibabad and Noida.

Chief Fire Officer Rahul Pal and his team supervised the firefighting operation. Seven fire tenders were initially pressed into service, while five additional vehicles were brought in from other areas.

Police personnel also monitored nearby factories and took precautionary measures to prevent the flames from spreading.

The firefighting operation continued for several hours, with the blaze finally brought under control at around 2 am on September 5.

Officials said the factory was a large structure and the fire had started beneath a tin shed. The shed subsequently collapsed due to the intense heat, making the firefighting operation more challenging.

Preliminary investigation suggests that a short circuit may have triggered the fire. However, officials said the exact cause would be established after a detailed investigation.

The factory, reportedly owned by Renu Gupta, is engaged in the manufacture of bags. The extent of the property and material damage is being assessed.
