Chandigarh, Sep 12: The Special Task Force (STF) of Haryana Police is considering offering a reward of US$10,000 each for information leading to the arrest of four wanted criminals believed to be hiding abroad.

The STF has already facilitated the detention of 12 gangsters in foreign countries, with the process of bringing them back to India through extradition currently underway.

So far this year, 14 criminals have been brought back to Haryana, while seven criminals were deported last year as part of the state's ongoing crackdown on organised crime.

The proposed reward is aimed at strengthening efforts to trace criminals operating from overseas and assisting law enforcement agencies in securing information about their whereabouts.

The STF is also tracking financial and banking transactions linked to criminal networks, including cryptocurrency and USDT channels, as part of its efforts to disrupt the financial infrastructure supporting organised crime.

Haryana Director General of Police Ajay Singhal said the state police was following a zero-tolerance policy towards organised crime.

He said action was being taken not only against criminals operating from abroad through deportation and extradition but also against their local associates, arms suppliers, financiers and digital networks.

Singhal said better coordination with police forces of other states and central agencies, along with intelligence sharing and technical surveillance, was helping authorities identify and dismantle entire criminal networks.

"No matter how far a criminal may hide, Haryana Police is keeping a close watch on his activities," he said, adding that every possible effort would be made to bring such criminals before the law.
