Patna, Sep 13: Unidentified assailants opened indiscriminate fire outside the residence of the national president of a Hindu organisation in Bihar’s Vaishali district late on Saturday night, officials said. No casualties have been reported.

The incident took place in Adalpur village, where unidentified criminals allegedly targeted the residence of Rajiv Brahmarshi, national president of the Hindu Putra Sangthan.

According to reports, the assailants fired around 10 rounds outside Brahmarshi’s house before fleeing the spot. Bullet marks were found on the main gate and windows, indicating the intensity of the firing.

Police reached the spot after receiving information about the incident and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack.

Vaishali Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shubhank Mishra personally visited the spot with a heavy police contingent and took charge of the investigation.

The firing comes a day after the husband of a District Council member was shot dead while he was out for his morning walk in Sitamarhi district on Saturday.
