Beltangady, Sep 17: The popular Gadayikallu trekking destination in the taluk has reopened for tourists starting September 17.
Trekking at the site was temporarily suspended on July 8 as a precautionary safety measure due to the heavy monsoon rains. With the rainfall now subsiding and weather conditions becoming favourable, the wildlife division has decided to permit tourists to climb Gadayikallu once again.

To ensure safety and properly manage crowds, a maximum of 500 tourists will be allowed to undertake the trek per day. Beltangady wildlife range officer Sharmishta stated that trekkers must register and book their slots in advance through the official website. Upon arrival at the Gadayikallu entry point on their scheduled date, visitors can pay the prescribed fee and commence their trek.
