Udupi: Car-bike collision leaves riders seriously injured

Udupi, Sep 21: Two persons riding a motorcycle sustained serious injuries after their bike collided head-on with a car near the Babbu Swamy Daivasthana on Subhash Road along the service road of NH 66 at Uchila on Sunday night.

The injured have been identified as Ramesh Kumar and Shaktivel.

The accident occurred when a Swift car travelling towards Udyavar on the Uchila service road collided with the motorcycle coming towards Uchila. The impact caused extensive damage to both vehicles.

The seriously injured riders were shifted to a private hospital in Udupi for treatment in a private ambulance. Social worker Jallu alias Jalaluddin and ambulance driver Hameed reportedly assisted in taking the injured to the hospital.

A child and the driver travelling in the car reportedly escaped unhurt.
