Udupi, Sep 21: Through rigorous training, continuous hard work and self-confidence, Insha Taskeen has fulfilled her childhood dream and earned a commercial pilot licence, becoming the first woman commercial pilot from Udupi taluk.

Insha Taskeen is the daughter of Iqlaq Ahmed and Syed Tabassum of Bailoor in Udupi city. Her brother is serving as a senior executive officer with Air India at Delhi Airport.

Insha Taskeen completed her education from LKG to class 12 at Little Rock Indian School, Brahmavar. She then joined Redbird Flight Training Academy to pursue her dream of becoming a pilot. During a one-year programme at the Redbird institution in Delhi, she underwent ground classes and prepared for the required examinations, clearing all the examinations in her first attempt.

As the next stage of her training, she successfully completed 200 hours of flying training at the Belagavi Flying Base and obtained her commercial pilot licence.

Having fulfilled her childhood dream through rigorous training, continuous hard work and self-confidence, Insha Taskeen has become an inspiration to young women in Udupi district, particularly those aspiring to build careers in the aviation sector.

“Initially, I had no interest in becoming a pilot. Once, when I was studying in SSLC, we travelled to Delhi. When I saw the airport there, I developed a desire to become a pilot. With the support of my family, I was able to fulfil my dream. In the coming days, I aim to work as a commercial pilot and dream of achieving more in the aviation sector,” said Capt Insha Taskeen.
