Mangaluru, Sep 25: St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Vamanjoor, proudly announces that its women’s shuttle badminton team emerged as winners and men’s shuttle badminton team emerged as runners-up in the VTU Mangaluru Division men’s and women’s shuttle badminton tournament, organized by SJEC and held at the Global Badminton Arena, Vamanjoor, on September 22 as a part of its silver jubilee celebration.

The teams showcased remarkable skill and determination under the guidance of Vaneesha V Rodrigues, Physical Education Director (PED), and Sudheer, Assistant PED.

The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from 11 men’s teams and 10 women’s teams from all engineering colleges across the VTU Mangaluru Division.

The management of SJEC congratulates both teams and the physical education directors for bringing laurels to the institution with this outstanding achievement.

The event was graced by Dr Rio D’Souza, principal, SJEC as the chief guest for the inaugural programme and Fr Kenneth Rayner Crasta, assistant director, SJEC as the chief guest for the valedictory programme. The tournament was successfully conducted with the support of the management, deans, HOD’s, staffs, officials and committee members of SJEC.
