Mangaluru, Sep 30: In today’s competitive and digitally connected world, personal branding has evolved beyond creating a good first impression. Recognising its growing relevance, the Department of Business Administration (MBA), St Agnes College (Autonomous) organised a session on ‘Personal Branding for Gen Zs’ on September 30 in the Seminar Hall, Mother Aloysia Centenary Block, for the first and second year MBA students.
The programme was graced by Chaco P J, dean of the MBA and MCA departments, Sheryl Preethika, head of the department, Dr Mallika Shetty and Joylene Lobo, assistant professors of the MBA department.
The session was led by Amith Prabhu, a distinguished professional with over two decades of experience in public relations, corporate communication and reputation management. He is the co-founder of PRAXIS, India’s prominent summit for the public relations profession, and an accomplished author and columnist.

The programme began with a warm welcome by Anisha Pereira, a second-year MBA student. Addressing the students, Prabhu highlighted the 4 C’s – Clarity, Credibility, Confidence and Consistency as essential elements of personal branding. He emphasised developing clarity through reading, writing, investing in books and meeting new people, which broaden perspectives and generate new ideas. He stressed the importance of punctuality, personal values and a strong belief system in building credibility, while encouraging students to develop confidence and consistency in their actions.
Prabhu also introduced APFD – Authenticity, Passion, Focus and Discipline, urging students to remain authentic and honest, reduce distractions and stay focused. He further highlighted the importance of healthy food and regular exercise for personal well-being.
An interactive Q&A session followed, with Prabhu responding to questions from students and faculty. He concluded by emphasising that personal branding is ultimately about a belief system – the belief one has in oneself.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Vihitha Shetty, followed by a token of gratitude presented by Chaco, dean of the MBA and MCA departments.
