Udupi, Oct 3: Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti were celebrated with great respect and honour at Christ School, Manipal, on October 2.
The programme commenced with an ‘Sarvadharma’ prayer, followed by floral tributes to the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. The occasion provided an opportunity to remember their invaluable contributions to the nation, as well as their ideals of simplicity, truth, non-violence, patriotism and selfless service.
The principal, Eliza Vaz, recalled the leadership, sacrifices and commitment to peace of both national leaders and encouraged the students to imbibe their values and ideals in their daily lives.
The programme was attended by the principal, teachers, non-teaching staff, students and parents. The programme was compered by A Joan Priston, and Trisha S Kelkar proposed the vote of thanks.
The celebration concluded on a meaningful note, inspiring everyone to uphold the values and principles embodied by these great leaders.
