Mangaluru author Reshel Bretny Fernandes receives honorary doctorate

Mangaluru, Oct 4: Mangaluru-based author and lawyer Reshel Bretny Fernandes has been conferred an honorary doctorate in literature by the Emerging Achievers Council, New Delhi, in recognition of her contribution to literature and publication of books on youth, nation-building and politics.

The honour was conferred on Fernandes on October 3 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi in the presence of distinguished personalities, including politician Vijay Sampla and Indian Air Force Group Captain Rajiv Bhalla, director of Garg Aviation.

Fernandes has authored books including Bharat@2047: Role of Youth, Incredible Bharat: Vision of Viksit Bharat and Voice of Nation: Youth and Politics. Her literary work focuses on youth participation, national development and India's vision for the future.

She has previously received the Kittur Rani Chennamma State Award and several other honours at the national and international levels for her achievements.

A law graduate of SDM Law College, Mangaluru, Fernandes is a practising lawyer in the city. Her recognition with the honorary doctorate adds to her achievements in the fields of literature and social engagement.

The Emerging Achievers Council felicitated Fernandes for her contribution to literature and applauded her achievements during the ceremony at Bharat Mandapam.
