Kundapur, Oct 6: A 26-year-old man who had been missing since October 2 was found dead at a private property in Mathinamatha, Hosangadi, on Monday, October 5. The deceased has been identified as Kaveena Naik, a resident of Tarkimakki in Hosangadi.

Kaveena, who owned a tipper and had been involved in the business near Halkal for the past three to four years, had reportedly informed a friend at around 6.30 pm on October 2 that he was going home. However, he did not return home and her mobile phone was switched off.

After the family members searched for him and failed to find any information about his whereabouts, his body was found lying in a private plantation at Mathinamatha, Hosangadi. According to the complaint filed by his brother Praveen, the body was found in a decomposed condition with insects around it.

The location where the body was found is on the route leading to the family's house. The absence of footwear on Kaveena's feet and the fact that no footwear was found at the spot raised suspicion regarding the circumstances of his death.

Based on the complaint filed by his brother Praveen at the Amasebail police station, an unnatural death case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
