Mumbai, Oct 17: Bollywood actor Aamir Khan once shaved his head after being rejected by a girl he loved, just before making his Bollywood debut, the actor revealed during an appearance on the television show ‘Rendezvous With Simi Garewal’.

While many initially believed that Aamir had shaved his head for an upcoming film, the ‘Sitare Zameen Par’ actor disclosed that the decision was actually a reaction to heartbreak.

Speaking to veteran actress and host Simi Garewal, Aamir said, “A lot of people think I shaved my head for the film, when in fact I shaved my head for some other reason altogether.”

Recalling the incident, the actor said he had been deeply affected when the girl he loved told him that she did not love him.

“I lost a girl I loved. I mean, one day she told me that she didn’t love me, and so as a reaction, I went and shaved my head off. Quite a childish and immature thing to do, but that’s why I did it then. So when Ketan called to meet me, I went to meet him, and he said ‘where’s your hair’,” Aamir recalled.

When Simi described him as a “very intense lover”, the actor responded, “Yeah, I guess so. Sounds like it.”

Sharing more about why the relationship did not work out, Aamir said he respected the woman's decision to end it.

“If you’re having a relationship for a fair amount of time, and you know if she didn’t feel that she loved me or valued me, that was something that I completely respect, and till today I do respect that decision of hers,” he said.

Meanwhile, Aamir's personal life has also drawn attention over the years. He married Gauri Spratt, his partner, for the third time on July 5 this year.

The actor was first married to Reena Dutta, with whom he has two children — son Junaid Khan and daughter Ira Khan. The couple separated in 2002.

In 2005, Aamir married filmmaker Kiran Rao. They have a son, Azad Rao Khan. The couple announced their separation in 2021 and subsequently divorced.
