Man Jailed After Dog 'Shoots' Friend


Moscow, Apr 4 (IANS/RIA Novosti): A Russian has been sentenced to 15 months behind bars after his dog accidentally triggered a shot from his rifle that killed a friend on a hunting trip.

Igor Solomin, 44, was jailed after his dog fired the shot from a hunting rifle when he and his friends were driving in a woodland in Saratov region in October 2010.

Prosecutors said the bullet hit the driver of the vehicle, who died at the scene.

Solomin was charged with manslaughter.
