Supervisor, Two Workers Killed in Lift Accident


Gurgaon, Apr 4 (IANS): A supervisor and two workers killed when a lift they were using broke down and plumeted eight stories in a under construction building here Tuesday, police said

The 18-storey structure in sector 108 is being built by Raheja Builders.

Supervisor Govind, who hails from Bihar's Katihar district was in the lift with workers Surender Singh, of Harayana's Sonipat district, and Bhanwar Lal, from Rajasthan's Churu, when the accident occurred. All three died at the spot, police said.

A criminal case has been registered against project and site managers. No one has been arrested yet.

Labour Minister Shiv Charan Lal Sharma has ordered an inquiry into the accident and constituted a three member committee to probe it.
