AIIMS Researcher Beaten up by Rogue Motorist


New Delhi, Apr 4 (IANS): A 28-year-old researcher from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences was allegedly beaten up by a motorist who rammed his car into the victim's vehicle in south Delhi, police said Tuesday.

Faraz ul-Hasan was beaten up Monday in New Friends Colony around 9 a.m. He received injury on the head and other parts of his body, police said.

"The victim was going towards AIIMS when an unidentified man driving his car rashly rammed it into the victim's car," said police.

The researcher said in his police complaint that after the accident he tried to speak with the accused but he refused to come out of his vehicle.

The victim alleged that the accused hit him with an iron lock. However, passersby intervened and the victim called up police.

The police added that the accused could not be apprehended as he ran away.

A case of rash driving and attempt to commit culpable homicide were registered.
