Driving at High Speed, Man Killed in Delhi Accident


New Delhi, Apr 13 (IANS): A 23-year-old youth was killed while his friend escaped unhurt when their car, driven at a very high speed, turned turtle after hitting a road divider in south Delhi in the wee hours Friday, police said.

Ramandeep, a resident of Yusuf Sarai who was driving the Toyota Corolla car, died on the spot while his friend Neha escaped unhurt.

The accident took place on the Panchsheel Park flyover around 4 a.m. Friday.

According to police, both were returning from Gurgaon after attending a party.

"Ramandeep raced his car over the Panchsheel Park flyover, lost balance and hit the divider. The car turned turtle, killing Ramandeep on the spot," said a police officer.

Police are waiting for the autopsy report to ascertain if Ramandeep was driving under the influence of alcohol.
