Pakistan Cabinet May be Reshuffled, Expanded

Islamabad, Apr 13 (IANS): Pakistan's federal cabinet is expected to be reshuffled and expanded within the next few days, a media report said Friday.

As many as 4-5 new ministers could be inducted from the coalition partners, reported Geo News citing sources.

Former ministers Qamar Zaman Kaira and Raja Pervez Sharaf are among those likely to be inducted in the cabinet.

Hina Rabbani Khar, Pakistan's first woman foreign minister who was conspicuous by her absence from President Asif Ali Zardari's entourage in India, may be on her way out, a media report had speculated Tuesday.

The News International reported that speculation was doing the rounds in the Foreign Office that Khar may be given a new portfolio in an upcoming cabinet reshuffle and a new foreign minister would lead talks with New Delhi.

Khar, who was just 34 when sworn in as foreign minister last year, was not part of the presidential entourage when Zardari and his delegation spent a day in India Sunday.
