Mangalore: Compressor Handed Over to the Sri Devi Self Help Group

Mangalore, Apr 16: A compressor was handed over to the members of the Sri Devi Self-helf group, Kavoorhere in the premises of the Mangalore City Corporation Lalbagh on Monday April 16 10.30 am.

Major, Gulzar Banu handed over the key to the compressor to Jayalaxmi Janardhan, president and other members namely Leela, Prema, Rajeevi and Anusuya. This was a handed over under the Swarna Jayanthi Shahari Rozghar Scheme of the Corporation (Rs 2,80,000) including a loan from Canara Bank, Kavoor Branch (Rs 4,80,000).

Speaking to Daijiworld, Jayalakshi , president of the group told that they were running a business of stone crushing, digging, rock breakers etc with the help of a compressor which they used to get for rent from outside. She thanked the corporation officials for granting them the compressor of their own.

Bhaskar Chandra, corporator, Harish Shetty, Shantha R, Harish Kumar, Rupa D Shetty, Chittharanjan Das, Yashwanth Menakaliya, Lancelot Pinto among others were present on this occasion.
