Pakistan Prepares to Deport Osama's Family

Islamabad, Apr 17 (IANS): Pakistan is making arrangements to deport 16 members of Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden's family after their 45-day jail term ends Tuesday midnight, a media report said.

Osama was gunned down in Abbottabad town by US commandoes in May last year.

A meeting was held at the interior ministry to finalise the arrangements for their deportation, reported Dawn citing sources.

The Al Qaeda chief's three wives - two Saudi and one Yemeni - and 13 children were detained March 3 and were kept in a house that was declared a sub-jail.

A judge sentenced them for having entered Pakistan without valid travel documents and living here illegally.

Amir Khalil, counsel of the Osama family, told the daily that travel documents of the family were ready.
