Shimoga: Four Killed in Accident near Sagar

Shimoga, Apr 21: Four persons lost their lives in a macabre road accident, which occurred on Friday April 20 in Sagar taluk in the district on Friday April 20. The deceased have been identified as Raju, Saji, Shivan, and Srinath from Kollam district in Kerala. Sajid, the other occupant of the vehicle, suffered grave injuries. He was provided preliminary treatment at the government hospital in Sagar, before shifting to Shimoga for advanced treatment.

The Bolero vehicle in which the group was travelling was bound for Bangalore. At Guddekana near Adukatta on Sagar-Jog road, the driver of the Bolero, in an effort to avoid hitting a Cruiser vehicle coming from the opposite direction, hit a truck carrying goods towards Jog from Shimoga. The vehicle then tumbled down, killing four of its five inmates instantly.

It is gathered that these friends had undertaken a tour of Goa and Kollur, before visiting Jog falls on Friday morning. In the evening, they were going back to Bangalore, when tragedy struck.
