Kasargod, Apr 27: The evil act of pelting stones on worship centers both within and on the outskirts of the city continued and a few people forcibly tried to shut down shops and block the movement of automobiles here on Thursday April 26.

The police, in a swift operation, foiled this attempt. Miscreants pelted stones at a mosque located in National Nagar, Uliyatadka, and a ‘Bhajan Mandir’ located in Mogral–Puttur, near here,
on Thursday morning. The police registered a case against three persons in relation to this evil act.

A group of youth tried to block automobiles plying on the road, condemning the pelting of stones on the Masjid and damaging the residence of Niyaz. The police, who arrived in time, foiled their attempt and traffic returned to normal. The policemen resorted to baton charging on the mobsters.

Security has been beefed up in communally sensitive localities to avoid any law and disorder disturbances.
