Udupi: One Killed, Two Injured in Accident at Brahmavar

Udupi, Apr 27: One person was killed and two others injured in an accident that occured on NH 66 at Dharmavar, Brahmavar near here in the wee hours of Friday April 27.

The accident occured when a lorry transporting oil from Udupi to Kundapur rammed into a Bolero pick-up truck plying from Sholapur in Maharashtra at around 2 pm. The Bolero was transporting a load of fruit from Sholapur to Mangalore.

The deceased has been identified as Pandurang Aldar (51), a resident of Sholapur, who was driving the Bolero. The person in the passenger seat, identified as Gopalkrishna, was injured and admitted to a hospital.

Pandurang was killed on the spot. The driver of the lorry was also injured.

The vehicles were removed from the spot with the help of a crane. DSP Prabhudev Mane visited the spot.

Brahmavar police have registered a case.
