Kasargod: Wild Tuskers from Sanctuary Ransack Plantations

Kasargod, May 1: Wild elephants ransacked plantations in Pandi, near here, on Monday April 30 and caused damages of a few lac rupees.

The wild elephants damaged the plantations owned by Karthyayini in Pandi, near here, early on Monday morning.  Nearly 200 banana plants, 15 palms, and areca plants, as well as irrigation accessories were damaged by the wild animals.

The neighbouring plantations owned by Krishnan Chettiyar, C K Damodaran, Pakkiran Chettiyar, B K Balakrishnan, and Ramesh were also damaged by wild tuskers.

Tuskers from the sanctuary located on the Karnataka border are wreaking havoc on plantations besides damaging crop and plantations.
