Moodbidri, May 8: “Alva’s Education Foundation will be organizing ‘Alva’s Pragati – 2012’, a mega ‘Udyog Mela’ at Vidhyagiri campus on Saturday May 12 and Sunday May 13. Nearly 150 companies are expected to participate in the event. About 8,000 students have already enrolled online to attend Udyog Mela,” said Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman, Alva’s Education Foundation.
Addressing media persons on Monday May 7, Dr Alva said that union minister for corporate affairs M Veerappa Moily will inaugurate the two-day job fair on Saturday.
Rajeev Gandhi University former vice chancellor Ramanand Shetty and Banjara Group of Hotels owner Prakash Shetty will be the chief guests on the occasion.
Jobs on offer will be in banking, production, Indian armed forces, guest relations, information technology, service industry, medical field, BPO, KPO, insurance, automobile, sales etc, depending on the eligibility of participant. MNCs such as Infosys, Cocoa Cola, Volvo, Indian Army, HP, Pepsico, WIPRO, UAE Exchange, MCF, Biocon Axis Bank ITC. All Cargo, ACC, ESSAR, Taj Group, TVS, Aditya Birla Group and other leading enterprises are offering top jobs.
Alva’s Education Foundation has successfully held a day information camp for the participants in this regard. It’s an effort by Alva’s Education Foundation to train the students in order to effectively face interviews in bagging lucrative job offers. The campus placements by India’s reputed companies and MNCs are being held regularly at Alvas Education Foundation.
One-hundred-forty-three companies had participated in ‘Alva’s Pragati – 2011’, attended by 15,000 job aspirants from over 300 education institutions. Over 3,000 job aspirants were issued with job offer letters on the occasion,” said Dr Alva.
Udyog Mela is open to all and not restricted to students of Alva’s Education Foundation. An information center has been set up in Alva’s Education Foundation which trains the students in leadership qualities, soft skills, aptitude skills, and technical training.
