Bantwal, May 9: “A commemorative book is a manifestation of words and ‘Pallava’, a commemorative book on the 17th Kannada Sahitya Sammelana, has made its memory immortal,” said Dr Taltaje Vasant Kumar, chairman, Dakshina Kannada district 17th Kannada Sahitya Sammelana.
 
Dr Kumar was speaking after releasing the book at Satya Sai education institution, Alike, published by Sammelana reception committee on Tuesday May 8.

Satya Sai Lokaseva Trust president Gangadhar Bhat presided over the programme.
 
The district Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, Bantwal taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat former president B Tammayya, Alike gram panchayat president Kana Eshwar Bhat, and Vittal gram panchayat president Ramanath Vittal spoke on the occasion.
 
The newly-elected Dakshina Kannada district Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura was felicitated during the programme.
 
The commemorative book committee convener Anantakrishna Hebbar welcomed the gathering. President Sanjeev Shetty Alike read the felicitation address. Lecturer K S Sridar proposed the vote of thanks. Reception committee chief secretary Uday Shankar Nirpaje compered the programme.
