Mumbai: Hotelier Balakrishna Shetty Passes Away

Mumbai, May 10: Fifty-eight-year-old Balkrishna Shetty, the first hotelier from undivided Dakshina Kannada district in the metro to have a diploma in hotel management, passed away following a cardiac arrest on Tuesday May 8.

He hailed from Tiruvaje in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district and was educated in the metro. Besides being a successful hotelier, he was also a renowned social worker and crusader of the anti-dowry campaign in the Bunts community. 

He is survived by his wife Geeta B Shetty and daughter Karishma B Shetty.
