Udupi: Govt Set to Facilitate All Basic Needs of Public – A G Kodgi

Udupi, May 10:
A G Kodgi, chairman of 3rd finance commission implementation committee and T Thimme Gowda, a member of the task force, said the government has issued clear instructions to facilitate all basic needs of public.

Kodgi also said that there is scarcity of finance to support many project in the district. Health department had scarcity of staff and the state government must try to make up the deficit, he added.

Except Karkala, no other place has water scarcity claimed Kodgi. Udupi district would come up with better plans for irrigation facility. Kodgi also pointed out that water is being misused at many places. The concern government officials must step up to wastage of drinking water and put an efforts to provide connections to all those who depend on public taps and bear the connection costs. The government has also put efforts to stop the unauthorized shops in the district. Without the license, the shops would be removed soon, he said. Jobs for the educated and better salary for the employers are other field which has been improvised. He also said that there are many jobs available at Udupi district but laborers don’t utilize it.
 
The government also provides land improvisation facility for farmers. The tax is less for the farmers. But people are not informed appropriately which leads to slow progress of work and people.
 
He appealed to public to know their right and make better used of it. The government officials of Zilla Panchayath, municipality and Gramma Panchayath authorities should come together to improve the standard of city, he said.
 
Sri Katapadi Shankar Poojari, president of Zilla Panchayath Udupi, vice-president Jyothi Shetty  and chief executive officer S A Prabhakar Sharma were present on the occasion.
