Udupi: Bharatiya Kisan Sangh Demands Protection of Crops from Wild Animals

Udupi, May 12:
Bharatiya Kisan Sangha organized a meet on Friday May 11 to review the issue of the rising number of wild animals which destroy the crops in the district.

The Sangh members appealed the government officals and the district administration to take accurate measures to protect farmers and their fields from wild animals.

The sangha  has decided to stage a protest in front of the deputy commissioner's office on May 16 regarding the issue.
Nearly 20 per cent to 90 per cent of the crops grown by farmers  have been destroyed by wild animals.  Among the wild animals, nearly 50 per cent of crops was destroyed by monkeys.

The other wild animals that destroyed the crops include bisons, wild boars, peacocks, and deer.

The meet was held at Vasuki Towers.
