Mangalore, May 14: ‘Electrical Point, a household name for decorative lights and electrical accessories, is all set to move to spacious premises in the city from its present location at Karangalpady. The new showroom, which is housed at the ‘Electrical Point Complex’ near Bunts Hostel on Kadri Road, will be inaugurated on Saturday May 19 at 5.30 pm.. With this, perhaps, Electrical Point becomes the largest concern in the field of decorative lights distribution in Karnataka.
The new building and the showroom will be inaugurated by Roy Thomas, the DGM of Havells India Ltd., and will be blessed by Fr Stany B Lobo, parish priest of Our Lady of Miracles Church, Kallianpur. The chief guests on the occasion are P M A Razak, vice-president, Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Association of India, Karnataka, M Venkatesh Pai, president, Architects Guild, Mangalore, Vijay V Mayya, chairman, Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (India), Mangalore centre, and Urban Pinto, president, Karnataka State Electrical Contractors’ Association of Dakshina Kannada.

On May 17, 2004, Vinod shifted his business to Essel Chambers, Karangalpady, with a showroom place of 700 sq.ft. As customers’ response grew he expanded his showroom to over 2,000 sq.ft in the same building and converted the entire showroom into an air-conditioned one and this was blessed on May 19, 2005.
The new building comprising of three stories will have a total area of about 20,000 sq.ft. on completion.
Electrical Point has customers from Kasargod to Goa and from Shimoga, Chikmagalur and other districts. To facilitate to the customers need of northern parts of coastal Karnataka, Vinod started a state-of-the-art new showroom at Regal Entry building, near Karavali Circle, Udupi on October 26, 2009, consisting of about 4,000 sq.ft. and fully air- conditioned.
