Privilege Notice Served Against Ajit Singh

New Delhi, May 15 (IANS): Opposition parties Tuesday served a privilege notice against Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh for "making policy statement outside when parliament is in session".

The notice has been given by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Janata Dal-United (JD-U), and Left parties.

"I, Gurudas Dasgupta (Communist Party of India), and Sharad Yadav (JD-U) gave the notice," BJP spokesman Shahnawaz Hussain told reporters here.

The BJP leader alleged that the aviation minister was making policy statements outside when parliament was in session.

Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Basudeb Acharia said Singh indicated on a T.V. channel that Air India would be privatised.

"When parliament is in session, how can the minister make a statement outside parliament," he questioned.
