New Delhi, May 16 (IANS): On the fourth anniversary of the death of their daughter Aarushi, who was found murdered along with their domestic help Hemraj, Rajesh and Nupur Talwar spent the day Wednesday fighting in three courts to prove their innocence.

The case of the dentist couple, the main accused in the double murder, was being heard in the special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Ghaziabad, the Allahabad High Court as well as the Supreme Court.

While Rajesh Talwar is out on bail, Aarushi's mother Nupur is in Dasna Jail after the Ghaziabad court denied her bail 14 days ago.

On Wednesday, the Allahabad High Court postponed her bail hearing till May 22 while the hearing in the special Ghaziabad court and the Supreme Court was under way.

The Supreme Court is due to hear the Talwars' review petition to quash charges against them while the special CBI court will continue the hearing trial of the twin murders.

The court had started trial after a lapse of four years May 11.

Aarushi, 14, was found with her throat slit at her home at Jalvayu Vihar in Noida on the outskirts of the capital May 16, 2008.

The body of the family's domestic help Hemraj, who was initially suspected for the crime, was found the next day on the terrace of the house.

The Talwars are facing charges of murder, conspiracy and destruction of evidence.

Rajesh Talwar had been kept behind bars for 50 days before being set free in July 2008. He was then made an accused three years later.

Perhaps the most dramatic turn in the case came when a magistrate in Ghaziabad rejected the CBI's request to close the case and held that there were enough grounds to proceed against the teenager's parents.
