Udupi: 13th Yakshagana Convention Begins on May 21

Udupi, May 19: Under the aegis of Shree Shodhe Vadhiraj, in collaboration with Kannada and Sanskrit department, the 13th Yakshagana convention will be organized by the Yakshagana Kalaranga on the premises of Shree Krishna Mutt from Monday May 21 to Sunday May 27.

‘Bhima-Bharath’, episodes of Bhima from the great mythology, will be enacted everyday from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm as a part of the convention. Professor Narayan M Hegde will be the co-ordinator and K L Kundamthaya will anchor, informed a press release.

The inaugural of the convention will be by Vishwavallabhateertha Swami of Sodevadhiraj Mutt on Monday at 5 pm.

K G Ramesh Rao, DGM of Karnataka Bank, Subrahmanhi, DGM of Syndicate Bank, M N Shenoy, AGM of Corporation Bank, K Udaykumar Shetty, and Devanand Shetty will be present on the occasion.

During the valedictory, Katte Parameshwar Bhat will be felicitated with ‘Muttimuralidhar Rao Award’. The award comprises cash of 10,000 along with a trophy.

K Jayprakash Hegde, Lok Sabha member, and advocate H Jayprakash Kedla will be part of the event, stated the press release.

Those who contribute to ‘Talamaddhale’ are recognized with the Muttimuralidhar Rao award. The award will be conferred during the valedictory ceremony of the week-long convention, informed president of Yakshagana Kalaranga Tallur Shivram Shetty and secretary Murali Kadekaar in the press release.

    Mr anonymous!Have you thought of the plight of the youngsters who are behind bars? your bisiyaagade...does not hold good for serious situations like this...poor youngsters are rotting in jails, for the sake of some politicians games!
