Mangalore, May 22: St Christopher association, a registered trust in the city, distributed free notebooks for the needy children at the premises of the association, here on Monday May 21.

Cyril D’Souza, president of MACO society (Balmatta) was the chief guest and he distributed the books. In his inaugural speech he praised the good work done by the association in distributing books for the needy children over the past several years. He appreciated the unit members and their hard work under the leadership of Sushil Noronha.

Speaking on the occasion president, Sushil Noronha said the hard work put in by children to secure high marks is really appreciable. But in present, the society is full of anti social activities leaving bad impact on children’s mind.

Hence, it is very important for children to learn good things from society, concentrate on their studies and future. It is very important for them to show their gratitude towards parents, teacher and thus become a good citizen of India, he added.

Victor Menezes, secretary of the association proposed vote of thanks. Fr Stany Goveas, spiritual director and many others were present on the occasion.
