Karkala: Pune Hotelier Kanakadas Shetty (57) Succumbs to Injuries

Karkala, May 23: Kanakadas Shetty (57) of Kaudoor succumbs to his injuries at KMC hospital Manipal, on Tuesday May, 22. Earlier, he had met with an accident when he rammed a tanker near Ankola with his Honda city car on May 3, 2012.

The accident happened when the well known Pune hotelier Shetty was travelling to Karkala along with his elder brother Ravi Shetty who died on spot in this mishap.

Kanakada Shetty was one of the founders of hotel association in Pune, and served as secretary to the association for one term.

Shetty was also active in social organizations as he served Bantara Sangah Pune as its president and other social organizations. He was running Kavi Bar and Restaurant in Pune.

    We read such news almost daily but when it happens in your own neighborhood, it shocks/pains. It is sad that such versatile personalities with whom we have spent our childhood and grown up together are perishing in such tragic manner. Its only a month ago, i visited the ailing bed-ridden mother of the deceased. May almighty God grant them eternal peace and to the family the strength to bear the loss.

    It is a very shocking news as two of our neighbour brothers lost their lives in a tragic accident. We know them from childhood as our next door neighbours and the news of this accident has caused distress in the neighbourhood of Eliyal-Kowdoor. We pray to God that their (Ravianna and Kanakanna's) souls rest in peace.
