Kuwait Kannada Koota (KKK) Celebrates Marala Mallige Day

Kuwait, May 23: It was an exhibition of fine talents exposure by children and as well as elder members of the Koota. Every year, KKK celebrates Marala Mallige day. Marala Mallige (Desert Jasmine) is an in-house magazine of KKK, published on a quarterly basis since the year 1986.
On this day, children and elders of the Koota are encouraged to participate in elocution and debates, extemporary speeches, Skits and dance, Kavi goshti,  testing of general knowledge,Rangoli for ladies, Vegetable and fruit carving for ladies and gents.
























































































The highlight of this year program, a quiz master Mr.Raghavendra Hegde was flown in from India.  Quiz on  “ Sirigannadam Yaksha Prashne” and general knowledge questions on Karnataka was conducted.Most of the members participated in the preliminary round followed by final round with 6 teams participating. Dr.Azad and his daughter  team won the quiz contest.

Children of the Koota excelled in debates, extemporary speeches on various general topics connected with current events. Ladies of the Koota excelled in Rangoli competition and vegetable carving. It was a sight to watch some wonderful vegetable carving done with so much of enthusiasm.

All the activities were conducted by Marala Mallige committee with Mr.Suresh Neramballi as the convener of the committee. The executive committee headed by Dr.Surendra Nayak took extra efforts in bringing the quiz master from India exclusively for this function.

All in all, it was a glittering colorful function with so many talents coming out of our children and as well as elder members of the Koota. We thank the Marala Mallige committee and the executive committee for providing a whole some program with knowledge and entertainment.
